How did u obtain the basis vectors in the spatial description from the ABAQUS. I assumed them to be {1,0,0} {0,1,0} and {0,0,1}. This way it worked for single element. How did you finally fix this issue. Thanks a LOT -Ravi Reply Posts: 83 zhaiys Aug 16, 2013 6:07 am (@zhaiys)

WebWe emphasise, however, that the majority of biomechanical simulations rely on the use of continuum elements with a local coordinate system in Abaqus/Standard, and therefore the development of a hyperelastic UMAT requires an in-depth and precise understanding of the form of the non-classical deformation gradient provided as input by Abaqus.

In this chapter, we will discuss concepts to introduce the reader to hyperelasticity. Hyperelastic constitutive laws are used to model materials that respond elastically when subjected to large strains like even 100’s of percent strains. The mechanical behavior of such materials involves significant changes in shape.
