More specifically: When a player with settled status (non-UK player playing in the UK) agrees to a new contract and is given a work permit, it seems like the work permit actually isn't given after all. After signing, the player is still listed with settled status. Appears to be related to changing the User Data Location, as has appeared twice after attempting that without changing any other preferences (resolved both times by deleting cache and preferences) and works ok when not attempted.
